  Stayed here in May 2016 after a long day on the camino when no beds were available elsewhere. Good, clean, large room with hot showers and comfy beds.

  The garden of the hotel restaurant is very nice and quiet, but that's all positive there is to say about this place. We had a pilgrim menu for 10€ and the food was very close to non-edible. Burned garlic in the spaghetti aglio e olio, the uncreative "mixed salad" contained of a couple of salad leaves, two slices of tomato and a few olives. The croquettes and the chips were ok, but not flavored at all. The worst thing was the desert. The "caramel flummery" was served to me crumbled and swimming in some weird brown sauce. The waiter was ignorant and unfriendly and didn't care about his guests at all. As we walked inside to pay (since he would not come to us) another employee behind the bar saw that we were not very pleased with our visit. He asked if everything was alright and the waiter then replied in Spanish (although he knew that I speak Spanish) that 'we already walked in this way'. One of the worst restaurant experiences I had on my journeys.

  In this little town, there is this oasis! Good food, well appointed accommodations, great wine and good company... This is the place to be in Castrojeriz, Spain. The owner, Santiago, knows the Camino de Santiago like the back of his hand, he speaks very good English, and is a pleasure to spend time with... Thank you... Nice visit for me here!

  We just wanted to eat a pilgrem menu for 10€. The waiter was unfriendly und didn't had an alternative for my vegetarian friend. My dessert was a wrapped cornetto lemon on a plate and a friend of mine got an brackish, broken caramel pudding. Never again!
